Privacy

The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.

The use of our website is usually possible without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. name, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our pages, this is always done, as far as possible, on a voluntary basis. This data is partly passed on to third parties in accordance with this privacy policy.

We would like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of the data against access by third parties is not possible.

Cookies

The internet pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. When cookies are disabled, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Hosting Provider & Server LogFiles

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request

This data cannot be directly assigned to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use.

This data, as well as all data on this website, is stored by our hosting provider NetZone AG, Panoramaweg 2, CH-5040 Schöftland, whose privacy policy can be found here.

SSL encryption

This site uses SSL encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser address bar changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar.

If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Contact form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, the information you provide in the inquiry form, including your contact data and IP address, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not share this data without your consent.

Comment function

For the comment function on this page, in addition to your comment, information on the time of creation of the comment, your e-mail address and, if you do not post anonymously, the username you have chosen will be stored.

Gravatar

Gravatar is a service provided by Automattic Inc, the company behind WordPress. Your IP and email address are sent to Automattic to check whether you have a Gravatar account and, if so, to display the profile picture stored in your Gravatar account next to your comment on this website.

You can view Automattic’s privacy policy here.

Storage of the IP address

Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who post comments. Since we do not check comments on our site before they are activated, we need this data in order to be able to take action against the author in the event of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.

Subscribe to comments

As a user of the site, you can subscribe to comments after registering. You will receive a confirmation email to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided. You can unsubscribe from this function at any time via a link in the info mails.

Newsletter data

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter.

We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

The registration for our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in process. I.e. after registration you will receive an email asking you to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can log in with foreign e-mail addresses.

Subscriptions to the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the subscription process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of the login and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Likewise, changes to your data stored with ConvertKit are logged.

ConvertKit

The newsletter is sent using “ConvertKit”, a newsletter sending platform of the US provider ConvertKit LLC, USA.

The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in the context of this notice, are stored on ConvertKit’s servers in the USA. ConvertKit uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, ConvertKit may use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and the presentation of the newsletters or for economic purposes to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, ConvertKit does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass it on to third parties.

We trust in the reliability and IT and data security of ConvertKit. ConvertKit is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement “Privacy Shield” and thus commits to comply with the EU data protection requirements. Furthermore, we have concluded a “Data Processing Agreement” with ConvertKit. This is a contract in which ConvertKit undertakes to protect our users’ data, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its data protection provisions and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view ConvertKit’s privacy policy here.

Statistical survey and analyses

Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened, and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our nor ConvertKit’s intention to monitor individual users. The evaluations serve us much more to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Termination/Revocation

You can cancel the receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consents. This will also terminate your consent to its sending via ConvertKit and the statistical analyses. A separate revocation of the dispatch via ConvertKit or the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible.

You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Legal basis Data Protection Regulation

In accordance with the requirements of the Basic Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) applicable as of May 25, 2018, we inform you that the consents to the sending of e-mail addresses are based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, 7 DSGVO as well as § 7 para. 2 No. 3, resp. para. 3 UWG takes place. The use of the shipping service provider ConvertKit, the performance of statistical surveys and analyses, as well as logging of the registration process, are carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests in accordance with the German Data Protection Act. Art. 6 par. 1 lit. f GDPR. Our interest is directed towards the use of a user-friendly as well as secure newsletter system that serves our business interests as well as meets the expectations of the users.
